Loco Loco Mocha Mocha

During this moment in time where winter seems to have an issue about letting go so we all can enjoy the beauty of spring and the promise of summer, let's take a moment and pretend.....

We're in Hawaii....lounging in a cabana by the ocean, basking in the beautiful lush island surroundings and listening to the waves crash on the shore. We're admiring a few local surfers maneuver the curls and manage to make it look graceful and easy, as we leisurely sip our cool and refreshing Hawaiian drink....

Loco Loco Mocha Mocha

Chocolate Syrup
Chocolate Sugar
1 oz. Coconut Rum
1 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Half and Half
1 oz. Espresso
3 oz. Pineapple Juice
Whipped Cream, Cocoa Powder to garnish.

Line the rim of a tall glass with chocolate sugar, squirt some chocolate syrup around the inside.

Fill a blender 1/3 the way with ice cubes. Add the remaining ingredients (except for the garnishes) and blend until creamy. Pour into the chocolate decorated glass. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

And continue day dreaming

Bloody Hot Mary

Bloody Marys are suppose to be hot, right? I've heard 'the hotter, the better'. And I can see why, if this is your morning after drink. Do you know what happens when you substitute a few ingredients for hotter versions? Lots of heat. And when you serve it in a sexy little martini glass... "That's Hot" becomes an all encompassing statement.

What did I substitute, you ask? I used Spicy Hot V8, Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce, and last but not least....I didn't have any I added wasabi, which is a Japanese horseradish, so it's all good. And it's bloody hot!

Bloody Hot Mary

2 oz Vodka
4 oz Spicy Hot V8
1/2 tsp prepared wasabi
2 - 3 dashes Worcestershire Sauce
3 dashes Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
Pinch of celery salt
1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
Garnish with lemon, celery, cherry tomatoes if desired

Combine all ingredients, strain over ice and serve in your favorite glass.

Sweet Tart Martini

What do you do when it is your birthday, you have a friend over and a gift card to the liquor store? You grab yourself a specialty bottle of booze and make awesome Sweet Tart Martinis!

Ty's Mommy mixes up a special batch of girly martinis here, and you can too!

Sweet Tart Martini
1.5 oz. X-Rated fusion
1.5 oz. Triple Sec
1.5 oz. cranberry juice
splash of pineapple juice
squeeze of lime

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour.

This sounds so delicious, I am going to have to keep my eye out for that X-Rated Fusion! I love having specialty bottles in my bar. They are so pretty and shiny. Sometimes I even drink from them!

Twisted Raspberry Fizz

Looking for something a little on the sweet side with a bit of a kick? I sure was.....and boy did I find it. Not only does it give a little kick on the way down....but it sneaks up on ya a little later with another kind of a kick.

And sometimes.....that's just what the dr. ordered.

At least my doctor did. I think. I don't have the little signed prescription or anything. (did you know that it's not spelled perscription? have I really been pronouncing it wrong my whole life? LMAO!!! ya....must be a side affect of being on my second 'said prescription')

(clears throat)....aaaaaaanyways

I happen to love raspberries. But I really don't like raspberry flavored alcohol. To tastes like cough medicine. But for some reason it works in this drink. I think with the other ingredients....the medicine flavor is drowned out and what's left is just plain good. Why can't all meds be this good?

hahaha.....Cheers everyone!!!

2 oz white grape - raspberry frozen juice concentrate
2 oz raspberry flavored vodka
2 oz sprite
1.5 oz vodka
squirt of lemon juice

combine....shake....serve over ice. Garnish with raspberries if desired.

Milk Punch for Mardi Gras

Grab your beads, make this punch, and let the good times roll.
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
Milk Punch
Courtesy of Michelle from Ms. enPlace
3 cups whole milk
1 cup half & half
3 cups brandy  or bourbon (pick your poison!)
2 Tablespoons vanilla
1/2 - 1 cup simple syrup (this is done to taste) *recipe follows*
Fresh grated nutmeg for topping is traditional

Combine everything except for the simply syrup and nutmeg.  Add 1/2 cup simple syrup and taste.  Add more in small increments, tasting as you go (that's the best part of the recipe), until the mixture is sweet enough for you.

Chill for several hours.  Serve, topped with nutmeg.

For a slush, freeze the mixture overnight.  Allow to sit at room temperature for about an hour before serving.

For 1 cup of simple syrup, you'll need:
2 cups sugar
1 cup water

Bring water to a boil.  Add the sugar and stir to dissolve.  Cool before using.
